Seek out

The RAINBOW was first given to Noah as a sign of God's enduring promise.

12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." 17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth. Genesis 9:12-17

The rainbow and God's promise.
I am just in awe right now.

God's promises--and how often I overlook them.
I do think that the devil tries to make us forget/blind us to the eternal promises that God has made to us...it's a trap! But we really do gain strength when we claim God's promises, when we take Him at His word. Something God is definitely pressing on my heart right now.

What has He promised me that I am overlooking?
What is He saying to me that I refuse to listen to?
May He open my heart to his promises and rend the callouses that satan has deceptively convinced me to allow to grow on my heart.

May the Lord rend the callouses away from our hearts and heal them with His everlasting promises...as He reminded me again tonight,
"He has loved YOU with an EVERLASTING LOVE!"
Amazing!

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

So in light of God's eternal promises for us as followers of Christ, sometimes I just wanna get out of here...like Paul expresses in Philippians...sometimes I just long to be with the Lord! But I endure here for His sake, and take in the blessings He has so graciously given me when He does give them. I cherish His love here and the fact that He blesses me by letting me be a part of His Kingdom here on earth. May He also allow me to show others the way even more as my life progresses!

May He make His promises more evident to us, and may we seek them out in His Word on a daily basis.

"Standing on the promises of God..."
How can we stand on His promises if we don't know what they are?

If you are standing on the promise of God's grace in Christ, we will be "over the rainbow" someday. Our troubles won't melt like lemon drops though...there will be no troubles!!!!!! Praise God for His eternal promises.

God's simple (and yet unfathomable) reminder today:
SEEK OUT MY PROMISES.
