This weekend was huge for me. It wasn't that big of a deal, but I have really just realized how much I really look forward to starting a family in the very distant future. I'm not trying to be forward or anything, I am just excited about the possibility.
Anyways, I guess the biggest thing for me this weekend has been (I mean spiritually, mentally, emotionally...etc) REJOICING. How many times have we heard this? Too many, probably, because it has lost its bang.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The LORD is near." Phil. 4:4-5
We often hear verses 4 and 6, but I don't know that I've ever really comprehended verse 5. Amazing. Sho' 'nuf!
Be gentle. The Lord is near.
Encouragement, hope, and a way to make the joys and hopes in our hearts available to others. After all, if we aren't gentle...who wants what we have to share? I'm guessing nobody.
So what I think about when I consider "gentle" is a docile puppy. Just loving and kind and sweet. Inviting. That's our charge.
May God continue to do amazing things.
In the words of Taylor "there are 10 things I can do for you right now..."
(nevermind)

amanda, i just stumbled on your blog; i found it strangely compelling and quite shocking, really... i hope that at some stage you ask yourself some questions about all the stuff you believe, i'm not saying it's wrong just that there's really not much evidence... maybe you should check this out: http://www.ffrf.org/fttoday/2005/may/singer.php
i hope you enjoy it, you seem smart and perhaps open-minded!
