"For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God. For, All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. And this is the word that was preached to you." 1 Peter 1:23-25
I may be a little too delirious to be writing right now, but I really want to, because I need some stress relief, and honest to goodness, God really did lay this on my heart this morning!
When I read this, I was like, WHOA, creation really does have glory. But it's of the Creator, and the creation offers it back up to Him. It's hard for me to explain exactly what I mean...anyway.
When I say that God is impressing upon my heart to be like GRASS, I don't mean that he wants me to lay in a field and soak in the sun and rain all day long, although I've done that. ;) What I mean is that God wants us to offer up whatever beauty and glory to Him. My time on this earth is short lived. I was born and I will die. But while I am in bloom, I want to soak in the SON, and to point to God and the glory of Christ, because whatever "glory" I may gain in this life is nothing compared to the Glory of the Lord, which is EVERLASTING!
This might be boggled (fun game...) but my mind is jello from writing that paper. I enjoyed it, but it's just hard not to be silly and suffering from delirium right now.
Big smile.
