Day 1 of Guard Camp

Well, I made it through 3 hours of Guard Camp today. This is my 4th year of band camp, but the 1st year as hired help. I consider it an amazing compliment that Mr. Horton even called me to do this, but it's also a little intimidating. Mr. Gantt, the new, very professional guard instructor (also the new assistant band director), is so gifted and he knows exactly what he's doing! But a lot of the stuff he's doing I'm quite unfamiliar with, although it's very good and really a lot of fun. I don't know if Mr. Gantt knows the Lord, but I can assure you I'm praying for him, because I know that God has called me to these 2 weeks of work at SHS and I don't know why, but He has allowed it. So, as always, I'm just on the lookout for what God wants from me, what He's going to teach me, and for opportunities to bring Him the glory. It's kind of weird because this is something I really love to do, but I thought I'd kind of turned in the silk, if you get my drift. I thought I was done when I helped with tryouts, and I'd convinced myself that I was okay with that. But then Mr. Horton asked me to help, and I really prayed and wanted to do God's will with this, and here I am. So it's kind of weird because I had already prepared myself to give up that part of my life. I thought the season was over, but apprently not, at least not for 2 more weeks. Yay, because I love it, and I'm glad God has given me this job to do for Him. It's just a little difficult not being in charge, but not being a student either. It's like I'm an in-between. Or something like that. So this week be praying for a girl named Courtney and also Mr. Gantt. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
